Meet the Elder Team

We believe that the leadership of the local church should be formed by the Scriptures rather than the world. For us, this means that LFDC is led by a plurality (Acts 20:17) of pastor/elders (Titus 1:5), qualified for leadership by the grace of Jesus Christ and in accordance with the requirements given by the Apostles (1 Timothy 3:1–13).

Therefore all of our leaders are not just in authority, but under it as well. Jesus Christ is the Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4) of LFDC, to whom all of our leaders will give an account (Hebrews 13:17).

Jesse Smout

Lead Pastor of Preaching & Vision

Hi. I'm Jesse. I love love and I love church community. God has graciously called me to serve this amazing congregation. My life in as few words as possible? I am blessed to have an amazing wife, two wonderful boys, teach at a Catholic High School, while I also enjoy theology, enjoy traveling, and most all sports. My theology? Man. I'm still ironing it out, is that okay? Maybe Martin Lloyd-Jones, Spurgeon, & Matt Chandler? Yes, I'm a Calvinist & NO - not because it is "cool." Yes, I'm a charismatic (with a seatbelt). Yes, I'm kind of Bapticostal. But, I'll tell you this: I know, love and preach the Gospel of Jesus - relentlessly. Hope you join us!

Rachel salcido-cowley

Pastor of Children's Ministries & Prophecy

Rachel served as the primary lead Pastor of Living Faith from it's inception until the end of 2020, where she stepped to the side to allow Jesse to take over the lead. In her time in ministry, she has felt a strong call to children and to the prophetic. As much of a mess the prophetic world is, we here at Living Faith still endorse it and believe the Spirit speaks to & through His people. Rachel is called to be the "Mom" of the church, as well as help us foster the Charismatic leaning we still own. She oversees children ministries, intercession and prophecy.
